Juggernauts Procure 3-1 Victory
|
The Toronto Juggernauts went home winners at Fox-Chong Park, thanks in large part to starter Daniel Taylor. Taylor stifled the Vancouver Wolves, enabling Toronto to grab the 3-1 win. The winner was Taylor. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Pat Felber. Julio Soto earned the save for Toronto, his 17th of the year.
Toronto used a clutch at-bat from Victor Chaviano to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Juggernauts ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Chaviano told the Toronto Today.
With the win over Vancouver, the Juggernauts improved to 51-52.
