Portland Absorbs 3-1 Loss to Los Angeles
|
Rocco Duccio was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Stars Ballpark. In fact, the Los Angeles Stars right-hander was instrumental in his team's 3-1 victory over the Portland Dragons. Earning his 8th save of the year was Chase Kessler. Los Angeles's record now stands at 56-46, placing them first in the Western Conference Najera Division.
Jose Gonzales, who finished 5th in the WC in hits with 185 in 2084, took Portland hurler Lanzo Huitron deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Stars on top, 3-1. In all, Gonzales had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
