Lobster 3-1 Losers to Friars
The San Francisco Friars stopped the Maine Lobster, 3-1, behind an impressive performance from Lyalya Markosiants. The 32-year old catcher made life miserable for Maine pitching. He threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Markosiants, now 4-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Bruce Feyereisen was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.

The Friars got a big at-bat from second baseman Edgardo Rodriguez. For the game, Rodriguez was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave San Francisco a 2-1 lead.

"We'll try to build on that win," Markosiants told the San Francisco Herald.

The Friars saw their record improve to 51-54.
