Browns Tuck Away 3-2 Win Over Cincinnati
|
The Brooklyn Browns besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Cincinnati second baseman Ian Frost by beating the Twins, 3-2, at Cincinnati Grounds. Frost was 1 for 3 with a home run. Jimmy Camacho earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 9-2. The triumph puts Brooklyn at 55-49 for the season.
Cole Chermak, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, helped out the Brooklyn cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops. "We just didn't cash in."
