Glaciers Bounce Toros, 8-3
|
The Denver Glaciers locked up a win at Aetna Stadium, knocking off the Tucson Toros, 8-3. On the mound for Denver was right-hander Tadeu Carneira. He played a major role in the triumph. With the win over Tucson, the Glaciers improved to 52-54.
Denver used a well-timed hit by Ray Garcia to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Glaciers ahead, 5-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Carneira. "Obviously."
