Roberto Davila was outstanding against Phoenix. The right-hander, who finished 2nd in the EC in wins with 17 in 2081, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Stars 7-3 win. Davila yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 10. His record improves to 1-4. The Thunderbirds, 11-11, continue their so-so start to the 2085 season.

Los Angeles used the hitting of Dave Yerges to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stars on top, 7-0. For the game, Yerges had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

After the game, Yerges refused to speak to a reporter for the Los Angeles Gazette. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
