|
Las Vegas got a valiant performance from pitcher Salomé Sieuve, but it wasn't enough to beat the Houston Aquas. Houston won the game, 5-2. Sieuve threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Houston pitcher Pascual Fassi got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Billy Zaffuto got the loss. Danny Mathews got the save, the 4th for him this season.
Craig Lightsey came through with a big-time hit for Houston. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Lightsey expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
With the win, Houston goes to 10-13.
