Kansas City Falters Again, Loses, 6-0, to Tucson
|
The 2085 season is getting uglier for Kansas City.
The Tucson Toros picked up a win at Aetna Stadium, dropping the Kansas City Athletics, 6-0. Taxi Sabala, who finished 3rd in the WC in innings pitched with 223.1 in 2077, was the difference-maker. Sabala picked up the win for Tucson, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2.
Jose Pedroza had a big 3-run home run for the Toros in the bottom of the eighth inning. With Tucson leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a cutter from Elijah Yates, who finished 5th in the WC in wins with 14 in 2081, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Toros on top, 6-0.
"You want to go out there and put up zeroes, that's the main thing," said Sabala. "You don't want to get caught in one of those back-and-forth, run-for-run games."
Tucson sits at 8-15.
