Minneapolis Vikings starter Erik Garcia turned in a sterling performance against the Miami Cyclones, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. Minneapolis reliever Katsuo Nozawa was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Ed Rice took the loss. Zee-loo Kim closed the door for Minneapolis, picking up his 8th save of the year.
Gentaro Arakawa, who is tied for 8th in the WC in bases on balls with 14, helped out the Minneapolis cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Arakawa.
Minneapolis, with the win, is 18-6.
