Friars Suffer 2-1 Home Loss
The San Francisco Friars got a sterling performance from pitcher Sal Mejia, but the Chicago Phantoms still prevailed, 2-1. Mejia threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Vismay Falcon was the winner. Over 7 innings, he yielded 1 run on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. San Francisco falls to 15-12.

Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Jose Buezo to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Phantoms ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Erich Weatherholt.
