Dragons Take Tight Tilt
Starting pitcher Oscar Mercado gave the Portland Dragons a rock-solid effort. The Quebradillas, Puerto Rico native helped his team defeat the Alaska Kodiaks, 3-2, at Portland Park. Portland, at 21-7, is off to a blistering start.

Felix Sanchez had a big run-scoring double for the Dragons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Portland leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a changeup from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Will Spangenberg and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 3-0.

After the game, Portland manager Greg Carpenter applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
