The Houston Aquas spoiled a good performance by Las Vegas third baseman Manichiro Kawasaki, bumping off Las Vegas, 7-5, at Tesoro Stadium. Kawasaki went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Danny Mathews, who finished 3rd in the WC in saves with 31 last year, earned the save for Houston. The victory makes Houston 12-16.

Marco Feron hit a run-scoring double off Salomé Sieuve in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Aquas in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Feron had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
