|
Victor Franco, who is tied for 6th in the WC with a 0.98 WHIP, never let the Kodiaks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Wolves to a win, 4-1. Franco picked up the win for Vancouver, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. Nick Campbell closed it out for Vancouver, earning his 5th save.
The Wolves had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 4-1, Vancouver, with one out. Alaska, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, was mounting a threat. Jose Fierro dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch fastball, he flied out.
