The Buffalo Rangers beat the Baltimore Kings by a score of 10-4. Buffalo center fielder Jose Puga deserved the lion's share of the credit. Puga went 2-2 with a triple and 3 walks, while scoring 2 for the Rangers. Earl Tessier picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Dudley Pick was tagged with the loss. The loss drops Baltimore to 14-16.

The Kings had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Rangers going into the bottom of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old third baseman Jon Sitterley came to the plate. Sitterley hit a run-scoring triple on a first pitch fastball from Baltimore hurler Dudley Pick. It was Sitterley's 1st triple of the year.

Buffalo manager Alex Beckman commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
