Destroyers Come Back Late, Nip Aces
San Diego beat Las Vegas at Western Coliseum, eking out a 4-3 win. The triumph was primarily due to second baseman Axel Castiglione. He went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. San Diego reliever Roger Calzada snagged the win, upping his record to 1-3. Jimmy Hsia shouldered the loss. The loss drops Las Vegas to 15-15.

San Diego used a timely hit from Willie Santos to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Destroyers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Bottom line," said Las Vegas skipper Justin Coroian, "we didn't play well enough to win."
