Titans 5-3 Losers to Metropolitanos
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Havana Metropolitanos and New York Titans.
Joyee Cameron was superb against New York. The left-hander, who is tied for 5th in the EC with a 10.6 K/9 rate, had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Metropolitanos victory. The score was 5-3. Cameron got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs.
Willie Flores had a big 2-run home run for the Metropolitanos in the bottom of the third inning. With Havana leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a forkball from Sergio Saldivar, who is tied for 7th in the EC in strikeouts with 43, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Metropolitanos on top, 4-0.
"This was a good win," said Flores.
With the win, Havana climbs to 15-16.
