Greens Win with Late Heroics
|
The Boston Greens wiggled past the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 4-3, at Arrington Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Boston right fielder Matt Steinruck. Jorge Zamora was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Alex Mendez. The win gives Boston a record of 19-13.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 11th, an error by the Thunderbirds allowed the Greens to score the winning run.
"I like our moxie," said Greens manager Matt Glazer.
