In a tight contest between the Miami Cyclones and the Tucson Toros, Jeremy Fitch was the determining factor. The Miami left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Fitch yielded 1 run over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-3. The Cyclones go to 13-21 with the win.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Cyclones had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when right fielder Chris Hodges hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Miguel Moquete and made the score 3-0, Cyclones. Hodges was 1-4.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Tucson manager Rick Barnes.
