The New York Titans topped the Buffalo Rangers, 4-2, in Eastern Conference action at Polo Grounds II. The standout performance belonged to New York pitcher and Tlaixpan, Mexico, native Danny Quijano. The Titans, at 16-19, sit in third place in the Eastern Conference Jose Santovenia Division.
With runs few and far between, the Titans had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for New York came in the bottom of the first inning, when left fielder Mitch Popp delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Santiago Ontiveros and made the score 3-1, Titans. Popp was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.
Popp attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
