With 2-0 Win, Rangers Improve to 54-54
|
Starting pitcher B.J. Baker gave the Buffalo Rangers a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the New York Titans, 2-0, at Bison Stadium. Baker got the win, improving to 6-12. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Jelmar Voskuil nailed down his 1st save.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from second baseman Willy Amavizca. For the game, Amavizca went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Baker said.
Buffalo has now won 4 straight.
