The Philadelphia Spectres had to overcome a good performance from St. Louis pitcher Carter Commiskey to claim a 2-1 win at Veeck Park. Commiskey went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Steve Jennifer notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 3-0. Divino Aljeroz was credited with the save for Philadelphia, his 10th of the season.

Mike McKasson, who is tied for 7th in the EC with a .442 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. McKasson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Philadelphia up, 1-0.

"It feels good to get this one," McKasson told the Philadelphia Chronicle.
