In a tight tilt between the Santiago Avispas and the Minneapolis Vikings, Julius Miller was the deciding factor. The Santiago right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Miller, the winner, moves to 4-3. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. Tony Ruiz was credited with the save for Santiago, his 2nd of the season.

Innis Walker, who is tied for 9th in the EC in total bases with 73, had a direct impact on the outcome. Walker contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put Santiago up, 2-0.

"Makes our job easier," said Walker, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."

The 4th-place Avispas lifted their record to 17-20.
