|
Though he had a stellar game, Mike Bak could not prevent his team, the Las Vegas Aces, from losing, 6-4, to the Alaska Kodiaks. Bak was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Andy Miao converted his 29th save in 33 tries. The first-place Kodiaks have won 8 straight.
Alaska first baseman Boyd Heath contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 121st hit of the season and put the Kodiaks ahead, 6-4.
"I believe in our guys," said Alaska skipper Alex King. "I like the energy they're playing with."
