The Avispas faced a stiff challenge from Havana pitcher Joyee Cameron, but persevered to claim a win at Estadio Latinoamericano. The final score was 1-0. Cameron went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Their 73-47 record puts the Avispas first in the Eastern Conference Walker Division.

Santiago used a timely hit from Yem Batista to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Avispas ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Batista said.
