Baltimore Falters Again, Loses, 10-0, to Los Angeles
|
Things keep getting worse for Baltimore.
Baltimore had no answer for former first round draft pick Corey LaCognata. The Los Angeles Stars starter stymied Kings hitters, helping the Stars cruise to victory, 10-0. LaCognata picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 9-10.
The Stars got a big hit from right fielder Chris Brankin. Facing Baltimore pitcher Mark Sanderson in the top of the ninth, Brankin pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 18th home run of the season put the Stars ahead, 7-0.
"When you're losing, the game looks more difficult to play than it is," said Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter.
The last-place Kings have lost 8 consecutive games.
