Browns Stumble Again, Lose, 7-4
|
Led by Jonny Mavros, the Havana Metropolitanos downed the Brooklyn Browns, 7-4. Mavros went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Metropolitanos. Picking up the win was Mike Trice. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 3. Dave Landazuri recorded the save, making him 1 for 3.
Winnipeg, Canada native Jonny Mavros had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the sixth for the Metropolitanos. With Havana trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
Mavros told the Havana Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
The losses continue to pile up for Brooklyn, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.
