Arrows Turn Back San Francisco, 3-2
|
The Seattle Arrows earned a close win over the San Francisco Friars, thanks in part to Danny Mathews. The Seattle right-hander, who finished 5th in the WC in wins with 15 in 2078, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Aaron Narduzzi recorded his 21st save for Seattle. Seattle is now 61-64, while San Francisco is 63-62.
The Arrows got a big at-bat from designated hitter Dave Rivera. For the game, Rivera went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 23rd double of the season gave Seattle a 3-2 lead.
"Danny was pounding the zone," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber.
