Baltimore took on San Diego in front of a lively crowd.

Baltimore starter Savino Dore pitched well against the San Diego Destroyers at Seaward Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. The win was credited to 32-year old right-handed pitcher Jeremy Lanham in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jared Gutierrez took the loss.

Eli Avelar aided the Baltimore cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Avelar told the Baltimore Observer. "You win just by scoring more runs."

The first-place Kings are now 79-47, the Destroyers 46-80.
