Buffalo 5-3 Win Hard-Earned
|
The Buffalo Rangers got a hard-earned win over the Miami Cyclones, 5-3, in 10 innings. Bobby Verkaik provided some offensive muscle for Buffalo. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Nees van Santen picked up the save, his 4th. The Rangers move to 67-59 with the win, while the Cyclones drop to 55-70.
Had Verkaik not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Verkaik hit a 2-run single. The Rangers took the lead, 5-3, and never looked back.
"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Miami manager Chris Stephan.
