Walk-Off Win Makes Minneapolis 72-55
|
Minneapolis Grounds was host to some action-packed drama.
Minneapolis turned a fine outing from starter Vismay Falcon into a victory over the San Francisco Friars at Minneapolis Grounds. The final score was 4-2. The win was credited to Lesley Deakin in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Bruce Feyereisen took the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Leonilde Tigre in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Mayea to win the game for Minneapolis. The home crowd went nuts.
"It was bedlam at the end," Tigre said.
The Vikings sit in first place in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division with a record of 72-55.
