The Washington Senators picked up a win at Portland Park, topping the Portland Dragons, 3-2. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Rajam Masrani. He played a principal role in the triumph. Masrani got the win, improving to 6-13. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Xiong Loh picked up the save, his 7th.

Zheng-ze Gu, who is tied for 7th in the EC in bases on balls with 74, had a direct impact on the outcome. Gu contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Washington up, 3-1.

"We busted our tails," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter. "But we came up short."
