Minneapolis Slaps 10-5 Loss on San Francisco
|
The Minneapolis Vikings besoiled an otherwise fine performance by San Francisco third baseman Ken Draves by beating the Friars, 10-5, at Minneapolis Grounds. Draves was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The losing streak for San Francisco has now reached 4 games.
Bobby Aguinaga had a big 3-run home run for the Vikings in the bottom of the second inning. With Minneapolis leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Bill Zamora and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 9th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vikings ahead, 5-1.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Aguinaga, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
