Harfangs Deal Maine 3-1 Defeat
|
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Mount Royal Park. Fortunately for the Montreal Harfangs, though, Marty Avalos was able to deliver in the clutch. He was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, to lead his team past the Maine Lobster, 3-1. The Harfangs have a winning streak of 4 games.
With Montreal trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Avalos hit a fastball from Ted Ayres for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Harfangs ahead, 2-1.
"Marty leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Montreal manager Brendan Henry.
