Gaedels Come Back Late to Top Glaciers, 4-2
|
The St. Louis Gaedels topped the Denver Glaciers, 4-2, in Eastern Conference action at Mountain Dew Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Louis pitcher Luis Espiricueta. Frank Hubert got the save, the 4th for him this season. St. Louis, at 54-75, sits in 4th place in the Eastern Conference Muldoom O'Mulmohery Division.
Geri Rengifo came through with a big-time hit for St. Louis. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Said losing manager Todd Bleess: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
