Rangers Deal Avispas 4-2 Defeat
|
Good production from first baseman Cole Hickey helped the Buffalo Rangers topple the Santiago Avispas, 4-2. Hickey went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Rangers. Lupe Sandoval recorded the save for Buffalo, his 4th of the season. The third-place Rangers improved to 70-60.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Matty Hrinko? The Buffalo left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rangers on top, 4-2. For the game, Hrinko had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman.
