Riding the 4-hit performance of the 26-year old first baseman Karl Cooper, the Miami Cyclones stopped the San Diego Destroyers, 8-2. Miami pitcher Anton Rochambeau got the win, upping his record to 1-3. Jerry Cowley got the loss. The Cyclones go to 17-20, putting them 4th in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division.

Miami catcher Shane Ausmus contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 4-0.

"They just got us," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt, "and that's all I can say."
