Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Phoenix Thunderbirds got the win.

Phoenix pitcher Jay Barrientos did his part in helping his team beat the Las Vegas Aces, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Forbes Kopecky earned his 2nd save in 5 chances.

Phoenix took a 4-2 lead on Billy Morf's 20th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Morf hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Las Vegas pitcher Jordan Torres visibly frustrated.

"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Justin Coroian.

At 49-82, the Thunderbirds find themselves in last place in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division.
