The Miami Cyclones could not turn a fine performance from designated hitter Alonzo Armijo into a win. Instead, the Philadelphia Spectres prevailed, 7-6. Armijo was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. The Spectres are now 70-59, while the Cyclones fall to 56-73.
Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Vincent Horvers to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Spectres ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Horvers.
