Senators Lose, 5-3, at Minneapolis Grounds
|
Minneapolis parlayed a decent outing from starter Alex Mijangos into a solid win over the Washington Senators. The final score was 5-3. Mijangos picked up the win for Minneapolis, going 5 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 11-2. Minneapolis is now 68-63, while Washington is 56-76.
Gerardo Freire had a big 2-run double for the Vikings in the bottom of the first inning. With Minneapolis leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Hawk Hartshorn, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2075 draft, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vikings ahead, 3-0.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.
