With 6-1 Win, Thunderbirds Improve to 66-65
|
Phoenix picked up a win at Legednary Park, bumping off the New York Titans, 6-1. Pitcher Yeniet Miranda was a major reason the Thunderbirds emerged victorious. Picking up the save was Sumiki Kono. He's now 3 for 3 in save chances. With the victory, the Thunderbirds upped their record to 66-65.
Phoenix left fielder Kieron Broadhurst contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 37th hit of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 2-1.
Broadhurst called the win "a team effort."
