Titans Win Nail-Biter

The New York Titans faced a tenacious opponent in Portland pitcher Yahya Kanoro, but still scratched out a win at Portland Park by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Kanoro went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. With the win, New York pushed its record to 69-62.
New York used the timely hitting of Ryan Mellon to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Titans on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter.
