The Havana Metropolitanos got a superb performance from pitcher Kane Lancaster, but the Miami Cyclones still won the game, 3-2. Lancaster threw 7.0 innings of 1-hit ball. Miami, at 53-78, holds down 4th place in the Eastern Conference Albert Castillo Division.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Ismael Allegranza came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Havana pitcher Hogai Yasuda, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Miami on top, 3-2.
"Nice, tidy little win," Allegranza said after the game.
