The Cincinnati Twins faced a tough opponent in St. Louis pitcher Luis Espiricueta, but found a way to pull out the victory at Cincinnati Grounds by a final score of 5-3 in 11 innings. Espiricueta went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Twins, now 66-66, have won 6 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ari Meklau in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Valenzuela to win the game for Cincinnati. The home crowd went nuts.
