The Philadelphia Spectres defeated the Minneapolis Vikings, 7-2, at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Philadelphia right fielder Ron Gideon had a superb performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Spectres bumped their record to 71-61 with this latest triumph.

With Philadelphia leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Gideon hit a curveball from Frank Macias for a 2-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Spectres ahead, 4-0.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Gideon told the Philadelphia Bulletin.
