Tucson picked up a win at Aetna Stadium, toppling the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-3. Pitcher Kevin Street was one of the reasons the Toros triumphed. Don Young got the save, his 8th in 10 chances. The Toros sit in third place in the Western Conference Eobanus Burger Division with a record of 61-72.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Toros had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when catcher Alex Zazueta hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Abel Downey and made the score 2-1, Toros. Zazueta was 2 for 4 with a double.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Tucson skipper Rick Barnes. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
