Maine wasted a solid 6.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Felix Talamantez, losing to Buffalo, 2-1, at Bison Stadium. The win was credited to Lupe Sandoval in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Aaron Kopta took the loss. Ricardo Alas notched his 8th save in 9 chances.

Had Abdel Laffita not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Laffita hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rangers.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Laffita said after the game.

Buffalo currently is in second place in the Eastern Conference Jossue Lopez Division at 74-62.
