Destroyers Drop Kodiaks, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the San Diego Destroyers and the Alaska Kodiaks, Juzo Matsumoto, who finished 5th in the WC in ERA with 2.93 in 2082, was the difference-maker. The San Diego left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Arturo Noboa was credited with the save, his 10th in 10 tries. The Destroyers now have a record of 52-85 with the win over Alaska.
Third Baseman Ju-ho Cheon made an impact for San Diego, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Jack Perry in the top of the fourth. For the contest, Cheon went 1-3 with a double and a walk.
Cheon attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
