Gaedels Get Hard-Earned Win
The St. Louis Gaedels earned a close win over the Washington Senators, thanks in part to Carlos Yturralde. The St. Louis right-hander, who led the EC in ERA with 2.16 in 2078, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. St. Louis reliever Hector Roybal picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Dominic Hogg took the loss. With the win, the Gaedels improved to 58-80.

The Gaedels got a clutch hit from center fielder Hunter Begley. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Gaedels.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Begley said in his postgame press conference.
