Andy Gonzales was a major factor in the 14-8 Havana win over Maine. The Metropolitanos catcher was 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Antonio Ramires, who is tied for 10th in the EC in holds with 13, picked up the win in relief. Tom Dobie took the loss for Maine. The Metropolitanos sit in last place in the Eastern Conference Jossue Lopez Division with a record of 60-80.

Willie Flores's at-bat in the top of the third inning was a big one for Havana. Coming to bat with no one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Havana trailing 1-0, the first baseman hit a run-scoring single.

"Every good pitch to hit is a strike," said Gonzales. "But not every strike is a good pitch to hit."
