Tucson picked up a win at Minneapolis Grounds, bumping off the Minneapolis Vikings, 5-4. Pitcher Marcos Sordia was a major reason the Toros emerged victorious. The third-place Toros improved to 67-74.

In the top of the eighth, Tohru Asano put Tucson in front with a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, he rapped a 2-run single, making the score 5-4, Toros.

"Enjoyed this one," Asano told the Tucson Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
