Athletics Absorb 5-2 Home Loss
|
Billy Lorsung, who is tied for 10th in the EC with a 1.13 WHIP, was locked in. The left-hander led the Miami Cyclones to a 5-2 win against the Kansas City Athletics at Ballpark of Missouri. Willie Santiago got credit for the save for Miami. It was his 5th of the year. The win puts Miami at 15-23.
Chris Hodges had a big 2-run home run for the Cyclones in the top of the fifth inning. With Miami leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a sinker from Alex Laso, who finished 5th in the EC in wins with 15 in 2081, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Cyclones on top, 4-0.
"Billy did what Billy does," said Miami manager Chris Stephan.
